The COVID-19 vaccine is now available to eligible groups of people in Massachusetts. Due to limited supplies, the vaccine is only available for specific groups of eligible patients. Additionally, appointments for the vaccine are only available at AFC Urgent Care West Springfield at this time.
To see if you are eligible for the vaccine, the state of Massachusetts has provided information for all residents. Use this guide to see who is currently eligible and when you will be eligible for the vaccine.

However, cancellations do happen, so check back frequently to see if one opens up. Please do not call our center to schedule an appointment.
COVID Vaccine Phases in Massachusetts
Phase 1
(December 2020 – February 2021)
- First responders
- Healthcare workers (working both directly and indirectly with COVID)
- Assisted living and long-term care facility workers
- Congregate care settings
Phase 2
(February-March 2021)
- All residents age 65 and older
- Those with 2+ certain medical conditions
- Residents and staff of low-income and affordable senior housing
Not yet Eligible
- Other workers such as manufacturers, educators, essential workers, fast food workers, retail associates, transportation workers, funeral directors, court system workers, etc.
- Individuals with one certain medical condition

COVID Vaccine FAQ
Q. When is the vaccine coming?
A. The vaccine is currently available for those in Phase 1 and Phase 2 (groups 1 and 2). It was approved by the FDA in late 2020 and is projected to be available to the general public in April.
Q. Who is eligible for the vaccine?
A. Currently, only specific groups are eligible for the vaccine. Please refer to the list above, or use the resources available at mass.gov to check eligibility.
Q. What are the policies for seniors?
A. Those 65 and older are eligible to receive the vaccine. To schedule an appointment, use the button above to see time availability. Then, please visit AFC Urgent Care West Springfield at the time of the appointment to receive the vaccine.
Q. Is the vaccine safe?
A. The COVID vaccine is currently the safest and only way to prevent getting COVID-19. Like all other vaccines, it goes through the same approval process and has been approved for public use. For more questions about the vaccine, please contact a medical provider or use resources provided by the CDC.
Q. What do I need to do to get the vaccine?
A. The only thing patients need to do to receive the vaccine is sign up for an appointment and show up at the time of the appointment. We are currently only offering vaccine appointments at AFC Urgent Care West Springfield. The registration button above will be updated when vaccines become available at AFC Springfield.
Q. Where can I sign up and get the COVID-19 vaccine near Springfield, MA?
A. Patients can sign up for the vaccine using the button provided above or the homepage. We are currently only offering vaccines at AFC West Springfield. We serve communities near Springfield, Agawam, Westfield, Holyoke, and other surrounding Massachusetts towns.
