How does COVID spread?
COVID spreads through respiratory droplets through a patient’s breathe, cough, or sneeze. Others in close contact can contract the illness this way. Symptoms of COVID can include:
- Fever or body chills
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
- Shortness of breath
Not everyone has the same symptoms for COVID. Some patients are asymptomatic, meaning they do not experience symptoms at all. Be sure to monitor your symptoms and receive medical help if needed.
When should I get tested?
Patients should get tested if they have been around anyone recently who has tested positive for COVID. It is best to wait 5-7 days after exposure to get tested to ensure an accurate result. If someone starts to experience symptoms, they should also get tested.
