The human body is over 65% water; when we exert water from our bodies from normal activities like sweating & using the bathroom our bodies need to replace the water that is lost. When we don’t give ourselves enough water to match the amount of water leaving the body, we get dehydrated.
Dangers of Dehydration
Thousands of people die from dehydration in America every year. If the body is in mild dehydration you may feel some symptoms such as:
- Dry mouth
- urge to drink
- a headache
These symptoms can easily be overlooked but it is important to stop dehydration early before it progresses to a moderate or severe level. A severe level of dehydration may include:
- High pulse
- fainting/blacking out
- no tears or sweat
These symptoms of dehydration should not be taken lightly & should be treated immediately.
How to beat dehydration
The Easiest way to beat dehydration is to just think ahead in your day, ask yourself questions such as: “Am I going to be near water? Do I need to bring water? Will, I be sweating or exercising?” When you think ahead in your day you can eliminate being stuck somewhere with no water & running the risk of being dehydrated.
