Prevent the Flu from happening to YOU!

FLUSHOTUnpredictable, but completely avoidable with a single dose vaccination, flu season is officially here. The flu affects thousands of people every year, making it even more important for you and your family to receive their vaccination. Every year the string of influenza virus changes, making last year’s shot useless and no longer applicable in fighting off the illness.

Children under the age of 5, the elderly and pregnant women are most likely to contract the virus, however, just because you don’t fit under those categories doesn’t mean you can’t catch the flu. Some people have claimed that after receiving the vaccination they caught the flu, but that simply is not true. Most people will feel discomfort around the injection area, as well as some swelling and tenderness, but other than that it is not possible for you to get the flu from the shot alone.

We here at AFC Urgent Care Springfield and West Springfield care about you and your family’s health. With no appointment necessary, we offer seasonal flu vaccines to those who need one. We are conveniently open 7 days a week and are located at 415 Cooley St. in Springfield, as well as 18 Union St. in West Springfield!
