Spring is here and it is time for Spring Sports! Here are some tips to avoid becoming injured this season.
1) Have a physical performed: Many organization require these to begin with, but if you are not required to have a sport physical, it is recommended to receive one. It can screen for potential problems that may arise from participation.
2) Warm up: Do not jump into any physical activity without conditioning yourself. If you have not been active for the winter months, you should work up to a sport with moderate activity weeks prior. Also, before a game or practice, make sure to warm u your muscles to prevent injury.
3) Hydration is everything: Injuries can occur when you are dehydrated so make sure to drink plenty of fluids before, during, and after practice or a game.
4) Keep a healthy diet: A healthy diet is important when you are physically active. Never skip breakfast. Avoid eating for three hours before a game or practice to prevent any issues.
